Graphic Arts Studio came to Thirst to conceive GOGO 7600, an identity and series of unique impressions announcing the Chicago printer’s new HP Indigo 7600 — a press that raises the bar of digital printing into the realm of the artful.
To celebrate the possibilities of variable imagery that this new press offers, Thirst created 468 unique collages, one per card.
Thirst turned to their sketchbooks looking for different alphabets that they had been working on. We were struck with the variety, and wondered if their was a way to put them together into a larger whole.
We looked towards the infamous exquisite corpse for inspiration — by using chance to combine different letterforms together, we could create a unique visual expression perfect for TYPEFACE: a exhibition about the best young typographic talent in Chicago.
