Thirst, led by John Pobojewski, was commissioned to design the brand, executive summary, and website for ON TO 2050 — metropolitan Chicago’s 30-year comprehensive urban plan. Following the legacy established by Daniel Burnham, CMAP — the government agency tasked with coordinating the region‘s urban infrastructure — authored a holistic and comprehensive plan guided by three key principles: Inclusive Growth, Resilience, and Prioritized Investment.
Thirst led the art direction for many visuals featured within the plan, collaborating with photographer Dave Burk and urban design firm UrbanLab to create a visual palette for the region's present and future.
”I have the ON TO 2050 executive summary and poster in my hands and they are both stunning. I can’t wait for you all to see them. These are just a part of the enormous contribution Thirst has made to ON TO 2050 and CMAP, but I want to thank you for your hard work on these pieces — it is truly appreciated and we can’t wait to distribute them tomorrow.”
