We want to emphasize the stability and continuity of CDA. Amid the insecurity, instability, hiring/firing, questions of income and rapid change, the CDA provides an unchanging unsurpassed standard of craftsmanship, insight and beauty of work, while the STA provides a safe haven for personal relationships.

3st's visual statement for the Society of Typographic Art's annual competition, Archive 11, was one that emphasizes the STA's connection with the Chicago Design Archive (CDA). We designed a trio of commemorative posters that feature the list of every designer inducted into the CDA, and a selection of thirty pieces representing the best of class work in the Chicago Design Archive.

The commemorative poster was printed as a series of three, each highlighting different holdings of the Chicago Design Archive on the back.

The work shown on the poster is identified with a small magenta number.

We commemorated the winners of the 2011 archive in a catalog.

Each page of the book displays the accepted piece along with the project details.

To emphasize the importance of the archive, we produced a series of graphic designer baseball cards featuring highlights from the archive and their relevant stats.
