Stop the Violence Book and Trailer

The Stop the Violence book and short film were produced to promote Classic Color's 8-color UV press. Rick Valicenti's design juxtaposes Francois Robert's photographic alphabet with President Obama's speech upon receiving the Nobel Peace Prize set with a strike-on typewriter which filled the Thirst studio with sonic rounds of editorial gunfire.

The book features beautiful forms painstakingly arranged by Robert.

Valicenti juxtaposed these letterforms with a typed transcript of President Barack Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize acceptance from 2009.

The alphabet of bones punctuates the President’s speech as he advocates peace while accepting the notion of a "just war."

And when a letter is displayed in bones it is removed from within the juxtaposed text.

A designer's typo represents the Z.
