The Cooper is Southbank’s first residential highrise on the South Branch of the Chicago River. The Cooper follows the brand direction set by Southbank — to celebrate artists working in the same artistic traditions once found in the adjacent Printers’ Row neighborhood. Thirst, led by Rick Valicenti and John Pobojewski, chose Chicago artist Nick Albertson, who uses photographic and lens-based techniques, continuing in the artistic currents by historic Chicago artists like Moholy-Nagy.
