YouTube engaged Thirst to provide animation studies and design iterations for the teaser site announcing their standalone gaming app. At the core of the teaser site is a graphic hear, built from the YouTube play button. We started by imagining different ways a user could interact with the heart: Games, explosions, flexible meshes.
With direction from YouTube we arrived at the solution where the heart is activated with gaming inspired animations. On click, the heart rearranges into 13 of the 48 iconic video game motifs we proposed.
